Gedis is widely acknowledged to be one of the fathers of modern fertility treatment. As Professor of Ob/Gyn at St Bartholomew’s and Royal London Hospitals (University of London) in the 1980s he was a leader in the field of endocrinology that led to the insights that made IVF possible.
As the founder of one of the first, largest and most successful fertility clinics, the Bridge Centre in London, he laid the foundations for the large-scale use of modern methods of treatment. Now semi-retired but still practising in Harley Street, he has also been the Editor of the prestigious on-line journal Reproductive Biomedicine Online. He has authored over 270 academic papers and 17 scientific books.
